What makes Archie Rose Whisky different?
Our goal at Archie Rose has always been to build a distilling company that showcases Australia’s incredible ingredients and innovation in distilling globally, while providing as many people as possible with the opportunity to drink quality, local spirits.
The most recent step towards this goal is the completion of our world-class distillery at Banksmeadow, Sydney. This new facility allows us to fully commit to the techniques we spent six years refining at our Rosebery distillery, including specialty roasted local malts, historic Australian barley and rye varieties, cold-distilled botanicals, and individually distilled malt whisky streams..
As part of this evolution, we have moved to patent the 'individual malt stream' process that will underpin our future production. Taking our Single Malt Whisky as an example, each component of our six-malt mash bill is processed separately from milling through to maturation. This allows us to tailor variables like yeast selection, distillation rates, and cask types to each specific grain, rather than settling for 'average' conditions required by a combined mash bill.
This approach splits the mash bill, treating each component independently from start to finish. Additionally, the patent requires the inclusion of roasted malt in at least two of these final streams. This commitment to roasted grains creates a production style found nowhere else, acting as one of the defining characteristics of the Archie Rose spirit.
