Matured for over six years in a 120L Australian Apera cask, this expression has developed an extraordinary density and poise. Bottled at a formidable natural cask strength of 71.6% ABV, it is an assertive, richly textured whisky that captures the pure essence of the spirit exactly as it rested in our bond store.

The nose is immediately commanding, delivering notes of lacquered floorboards, cherry cola, and homemade pecan pie with the sophisticated aroma of well-aged cigars. On the palate, it is exceptionally mouth-filling, delivering a decadent array of flavours ranging from buttery croissants with apricot jam to roasted hazelnuts and Werther’s Originals. The experience culminates in a long, dry finish of black tea and Vietnamese coffee. With only 84 bottles available, this is a landmark release for those seeking the ultimate expression of our distilling craft.

Flavour profile

Nose

Assertive and rich, the notes opens with notes of lacquered floorboards, cherry cola, pecan pie, praline and well aged cigars.

Palate

The palate is mouth filling and dense. Flavours of homemade toffee, Werthers Originals, apricot jam on a buttered croissant and roasted hazelnuts.

Finish

Dry with notes of well brewed black tea and Vietnamese coffee. A bold expression of the Archie Rose house style exhibited here at full strength, as it comes straight from the barrel.
