Introducing Lavender Smoked Cask Single Malt Whisky, the fourth and final release in the Archie Rose Smoked Cask Series. Each of the four whiskies in this series showcases a different natural ingredient, each offering its own unique character to the whisky. Lavender Smoked Cask Single Malt Whisky offers a sweet and savoury combination of Tuscan lavender, smoked meats and cashews, delivering a sophisticated finale to the smoked-cask whisky collection.

“Lavender is a really powerful aroma,” says Master Distiller Dave Withers, “so we balanced that with our native stringybark-smoked malt to offer robust smoke to balance that lavender perfume.”

“I think this is a whisky people are going to want to come back to again and again,” says Withers, “because it delivers so much on the concept. It’s up-front and bold, with plenty of that signature Archie Rose Aussie campfire smokiness, along with a dry and savoury palate and a meatiness in the background that offers structure and body - a perfect stage on which the lavender can perform.”

Flavour profile

Nose

A sweet and savoury combination of Tuscan lavender, smoked meats and roasted cashew butter. Prunes, and lilac mingle with apricots and passionfruit, lifted by subtle vanilla.

Palate

Mouthfilling maltiness and florals transition to smoked meats, plum and amaretto.

Finish

Long and complex combination of sweet floral notes, roasted nuts, stone fruit, and spruce.

Redefining The Art Of Smoking Whisky

We collaborated with a multi-generational Australian family cooperage to carefully smoke the inside of our empty whisky casks with a range of botanicals. This patient process allows the flavour of each botanical to infuse into the timber itself, and in turn, to the whisky during maturation.

NSW Native Stringybark Smoked MaltState: NSW

Malted in NSW using locally sourced barley and Australian native stringybark wood smoke. Rich, smoky notes of Australian campfire and prosciutto.

Lavender Smoked Oak Cask

The casks used to mature this single malt were smoked with Lavender, offering a sweet and savoury combination of Tuscan lavender, smoked meats and cashews, delivering a sophisticated finale to the smoked-cask whisky collection.
