Archie Rose Bone Dry Gin Claims "Australia’s Best Super-Premium Gin"

Archie Rose is proud to announce that our Bone Dry Gin has been awarded the highest possible honor, a Master medal, at the 2025 The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters. Competing in the Ultra-Premium category, Bone Dry Gin was recognised for its exceptional purity and technical precision. This win officially cements its status as Australia’s Best Super-Premium Gin, offering a bold, juniper-forward experience that stands unrivaled on the world stage.

The Global Gin Masters is a series of blind-tasting competitions dedicated to finding and rewarding the finest gin brands from around the world. To receive a Master medal is a rare feat; it is a distinction reserved only for spirits that the judges deem "truly outstanding" and "exemplary" within their flight.

In 2025, the Ultra-Premium flight was one of the most competitive in the competition's history. While many high-end gins were awarded Gold, only a handful reached the prestigious "Master" tier. For Archie Rose, this isn't just a win for the distillery; it’s a win for the Australian spirits industry, proving that our native botanicals and innovative vacuum-distillation techniques can outperform the world's most established heritage brands.

Product Specifications:

ABV: 44%

Key Botanicals: Hand-foraged Macedonian Juniper, single-estate Australian Coriander Seed, Lemon Scented Gum (Wodonga, VIC), and Emerald Green Finger Lime (Red Gully, WA).

Distillation Method: Unique cold vacuum distillation combined with traditional hot distillation for maximum flavor clarity.

Bone Dry Gin was created as a homage to gin’s foremost botanical: juniper. By using our one-of-a-kind copper vacuum stills, we are able to cold-distill at lower temperatures, capturing the "bright" essence of the ingredients without the stewed notes caused by traditional heat.

The Profile: The Global Gin Masters judges described Bone Dry Gin as “bold and expressive, with a nice level of juniper on the palate.” Our Master Distiller, Dave Withers, explains the complexity behind the "dryness":

We hand-forage Macedonian juniper and distill it three different ways—both hot and cold—to build a multi-dimensional juniper profile. It’s supported by a 'symphony' of single-estate Australian coriander seed, lemon-scented gum, and Tahitian lime. On the nose, it’s like walking through a pine forest on a crisp morning—think fresh Christmas trees, spearmint, and white grapefruit. The finish is incredibly persistent, dry, and herbaceous.

The Signature Serve: Churchillian Martini

A gin this pure is best served with minimal interference. We recommend the "Churchillian Martini"—a tribute to the classic serve that lets the juniper lead the way.

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Bone Dry Gin
  • 3 Sicilian Olives

Method

  1. Place your mixing glass, coupe glass, and Bone Dry Gin in the freezer for two hours before serving.
  2. Pour the gin directly into the chilled glass.
  3. Garnish with the olives. (The vermouth is optional—as the legend goes, you simply nod in the direction of France while you pour).
