How I Got Here: E-Commerce & Digital Marketing Manager Rachel Stone
Tell us about your career path and what led you to Archie Rose?
I joined Archie Rose in 2021 from Oroton where I was Marketing Manager and prior to that in the luxury goods group LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) where I worked as Digital Manager at Benefit Cosmetics for Australia & New Zealand. I always knew I wanted to work in marketing & e-comm. I love the psychology around why customers purchase, how they purchase and what makes them loyal to a brand - and best of all I love seeing results. I was attracted to my role at Archie Rose because of the brand (the delicious cocktails helped too). I love that Archie Rose is Australian-owned and that they’re unique in their position of having an e-comm store as an alcohol brand. Being a fast-growing brand I saw endless opportunities to grow the e-comm business in Australia and internationally.
What do you love about your job?
First of all - the people. It’s a genuine pleasure to come to work and be surrounded by passionate, supportive and fun people. We work hard and enjoy a G&T at the end of the day. What I love most about working in e-comm is the challenge. Digital is constantly developing, technology is constantly evolving and I’m lucky enough at Archie Rose to be able to test all of these out.
What is your current role like? What about this role makes you want to get up in the morning?
No two days are the same - one day I'm developing our new website, the next I'm sourcing products that work as gifts with purchase (GWPs) to pair with a new product launch while testing out new advertising formats on WeChat and TikTok. I’m constantly spinning lots of plates - but for me that’s what makes my role exciting.
Tell us what the Marketing & E-commerce team is like at Archie Rose?
There are ten of us in the Marketing Team here at Archie Rose and three of us are currently in E-commerce. The full marketing team covers Brand, Design, Trade and E-commerce. We were a team of only two 18 months ago which shows the scale in which we’re growing. They’re genuinely the loveliest bunch of people who love what they do!
What skills are the most crucial to succeeding in this career? What type of person do you need to be?
For e-comm, the most useful skill is project management skills. With so many projects going on at one time, you need to be able to manage your time and prioritise your work. And not be disheartened when a campaign doesn’t work, work out why, move on and make it better next time!
What is the company culture like at Archie Rose?
It’s so much fun. The team is a wonderful bunch - I always look forward to sitting down and having a drink and a chat with them. They teach me how to make delicious cocktails too which is always a bonus!
