Archie Rose x A Midnight Visit

We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with A Midnight Visit, the part choose-your-own-adventure, part film-set, part performance, part sound-world, part playground and all parts absorbing large-scale immersive theatre experience based around Edgar Allan Poe.

Staged in an abandoned two-story warehouse (with the site slated to be demolished to become apartments in 2019) in Newtown, Sydney A Midnight Visit uses the works and worlds of the macabre master Edgar Allan Poe as inspiration unlike anything seen before. Expect adult concepts, uneven floor surfaces, small spaces, a cohort of troubled characters and many adventures to be had – along with incredible Archie Rose cocktails and signature serves at Raven’s Rest, the bespoke pop-up bar. The fantasy world created by A Midnight Visit draws from steam-punk, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick and contemporary classics like Stranger Things.

"The experience explores themes of madness, guilt, death, impermanence and memory - just the small things in life. Set inside one of Poe’s dreams, not that you need to know anything about the man, it’s a place where the characters from his life and his literature collide. It’s sometimes funny, sometimes sexy, sometimes wistful, and yes, sometimes a bit scary!", says Danielle Harvey, Director and Co-Creator.
