A guide to Sydney’s most *extra* cocktails

Now, we’ve shared recipes and guides to many different cocktails here on the Archie Rose Journal, but this time of year calls for just that little bit extra. So we’ve scoured the city to find the loudest and proudest cocktails on offer this Mardi Gras. Here’s where to go and what to ask for over the coming weeks.

At the Archie Rose Bar & Cellar Door in Rosebery, the team has prepared three deliciously fabulous cocktails for you in collaboration with Logan Wein, Millie Sykes and Etcetera Etcetera. Our Limited Edition Mardi Gras Guest Cocktails include The Syke Out by Millie Sykes, made with our Signature Dry Gin, lemon, raspberry, and mint; The Glamour Shot by Etcetera Etcetera with our Bone Dry Gin, coconut, passionfruit, bubbles and glitter. Or the That’s Me Espresso, featuring our True Cut Vodka with coffee, wattleseed and pecan.

Trippas White Group is serving a very special Pash Parade, across a number of their venues, including Bar 83, Infinity, Skyfeast and their QVB venues Reign and ESQ. You’ll also find it at Botanic House, Terrace and Me-Gal.

Pash Parade is a vibrant blend of our Archie Rose True Cut Vodka with tangy passionfruit and zesty lemon. This one is a bold and playful sip, just like Mardi Gras. $2 from the sale of each Pash Parade cocktail will be donated to Safe Space, which supports LGBTQIA+ safety and inclusion. So drink up!

This year, you’ll find a menu of lip-smacking cocktails behind the bar at Surry Hills’ The Carrington. There’s the tall, crisp Life’s a Peach for afternoon kick-offs, with Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin, peach and oolong tea, lemon and soda.

When you’re ready to start dancing, try the Tangy Disco, a zesty and fizzy blend of yuzucello, vanilla, prosecco and soda with our Signature Dry Gin, or the luscious Club Carrington, with our Native Botanical Vodka with crème de cacao, raspberry, sakura and lemon.

When it’s getting late, The Hanky Panky mixes our Signature Dry Gin with sweet vermouth and Fernet-Branca. Then, end the night with Giggle Water, a fruity, aromatic, bubbly cocktail made with strawberry, Earl Grey tea, prosecco, and Archie Rose Native Botanical Vodka.

Behind the bar at Oxford Street’s very own Paddo Inn, they’re serving a bunch of genuinely colourful cocktails, including the Kiss Kiss, made with our Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin, hibiscus and lemon and the Spice Up Your Life with a blend of Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin, pomegranate, ginger and fizz. For the sophisticates, there’s the B.B.C. with Archie Rose True Cut Vodka, blackberry, and lime. And lastly, there’s Let’s Get Fizzical with our True Cut Vodka, raspberry, and bubbles.

These cocktails will stay for a good time, not a long time, so try one and try all this Sydney Mardi Gras. Happy Mardi Gras!
