A Decade of Artist Partnerships

Since we began producing spirits ten years ago, we’ve sought to redefine the art of distillation. Our values of creativity and innovation led naturally to many years of artistic collaboration and the opportunity to showcase the richness of Australian ingredients and artistry. Over the last decade, we have partnered with creatives and artists, each bringing their style and transforming our spirits into experiences that embody Australian culture.

In years past, we’ve put an iconic Helen Garner quote on the bottle, partnered with the National Gallery of Australia and used our platform to celebrate and increase the visibility of work by Australian women artists including Cressida Campbell and Marian Tubbs, honouring women who have been instrumental in shaping Australian culture, worked with LGBTQIA artists to create joyously riotous labels for our Mardi Gras Bottled Cocktails among many other initiatives. Given that this year is our tenth birthday, we wanted to take a moment to capture a decade rich in incredible artist partnerships and reflect on each of their stories. Join us as we take a trip down memory lane to celebrate some of these special collaborations.

Cressida Campbell

We feel enormously privileged to have had the opportunity to showcase the art of renowned Australian artist Cressida Campbell on a very special limited edition gin created as part of our cultural partnership with the National Gallery of Australia. This collaboration supported the Know My Name initiative, which promotes gender equality in the arts. The gin features Campbell's artwork "Ginkgo" from 2016 on its label, showcasing her distinctive style of transforming everyday subjects into captivating visual experiences.

Edith Rewa

In 2022, we collaborated with Australian botanical illustrator and textile designer Edith Rewa for our Christmas packaging and Tailored Spirits range. Edith created intricate botanical illustrations featuring classic gin ingredients alongside native Australian botanicals, designed to give the impression of floating through the liquid. The collaboration resulted in limited edition bottle labels, canvas bottle bags, gifting boxes, and even a tea towel, all adorned with Edith's captivating designs.

Louise Zhang

This partnership celebrated the Lunar New Year of 2024 and the Year of the Dragon. Louise Zhang’s work became a limited edition art label for our Tailored Whisky, Gin, and Vodka bottles. Her design incorporates dynamic forms, creating a sense of movement and celebration while paying homage to traditional Lunar New Year themes such as peonies, vibrant reds, and lunar motifs.

Luke John Matthew Arnold

For Sydney WorldPride 2023, we collaborated with NSW artist Luke John Matthew Arnold to feature vibrant and playful artworks that perfectly captured the spirit of celebration, individuality, and inclusivity. His multidisciplinary visual art and illustration adorned our Peaches on Beaches and Harbour Cruisin' bottled cocktails and the Archie Rose x LBDO Essensual Lube packaging.

Micke Lindebergh

Earlier this year, we sought the flower-powered artwork of talented Swedish-born, Sydney-based artist Micke Lindebergh for Mardi Gras celebrations. His painting, inspired by the Progress pride flag, adorns our limited edition Tailored label and the box of the super-fun 'Tell it to me Straight' card game we had made.

Evi. O Studio and Helen Garner

For our Limited Edition Writer’s Gin, we featured the work of two creative powerhouses. The label design artwork features a quote from iconic author Helen Garner: “Every page of writing is the result of a thousand tiny decisions and desperate acts of will”, in testament to craftsmanship and creativity. Evi O, local artist and Creative Director of the renowned Evi. O Studio in Marrickville interpreted this quote for the label artwork, drawing upon the conceptual energy of this idea in her depiction of a field of colourful abstract shapes – in her mind, flowers – where there is constant growth and movement. “It is joyous because obsessing over a craft is perhaps one of the most fulfilling experiences one can have as part of their one precious life.”

Gemma Leslie (Food For Everyone)

Last Christmas, Gemma Leslie from Food For Everyone worked with us to capture the spirit of summer and our shared passion for connection through food and drinks. The result was an artwork series for our Tailored Spirits labels, with two unique labels: Tailored Gin and Vodka and Tailored Whisky, bringing balmy, festive nights to mind.
