As one of the few distilleries in the world producing both whisky and rum we’re delighted to reveal two limited edition expressions of Rum Cask Single Malt Whisky, a spirit that sees our award-winning whisky matured in our very own Triple Molasses Rum casks. This special whisky will be released in two batches including a cask strength version available via the Archie Rose Bar & Cellar Door in Rosebery and Archie Rose website and a standard strength batch available exclusively via retail stores and bars.
Tasting Notes
Nose
The nose opens with sticky date pudding, amaretto and peaches dipped in melted brown sugar. A second visit shows deeper notes of walnut bread, marzipan and raisins.
Palate
A velvety opening of stone fruit, rich caramel and rum and raisin ice cream transitions into a weighty mid-palate of bananas and peaches roasted in spice.
Finish
Butterscotch and tropical fruits mingle with deeper notes of toasted oak, chocolate and espresso.
