Double Malt Whisky
From the minds and stills of Archie Rose Distilling Co. comes Double Malt Whisky, an Australian whisky unlike any other, crafted from a selection of our Single Malt Whisky (eight time winner of Australia’s Best Single Malt) matured in Australian apera, sherry and bourbon casks and Rye Malt Whisky (four time winner of World’s Best Rye) matured in virgin American oak casks, then married together using a solera system.
Our goal with Double Malt Whisky was to create a delicious, affordable local whisky at a sub $85 price tag that gives whisky lovers the option to switch from a blended whisky or bourbon to an all-malt Australian whisky. It’s powerful enough to stand up in your favourite mixed drink, but smooth and complex enough to sip on its own.
Sticky apricot jam smeared on toasted rye bread, with a second pass bringing notes of caramel, fragrant oak and a hint of milk chocolate.
Opens with pineapple, raisins and gingersnaps followed by a creamy, mouth filling combination of young coconut flesh, caraway seeds and raisins.
A delightful finish of sticky apricots, tropical fruit, honey-roasted macadamia nuts, a touch of paw paw and baking spices.
