$139The latest release in our Trials & Exceptions series sees Archie Rose Single Malt Whisky finished in a Marionette Orange Curaçao cask from Australian liqueur masters Marionette, marking the union of two local artisan distilleries with a deep respect for Australian grown ingredients. Marionette uses 100% Australian-grown fruit to create premium liqueurs bursting with fresh flavour and featuring no artificial flavouring or colouring.
Bottled at a powerful 50% ABV, the resulting whisky is reminiscent of an old fashioned cocktail by combining the rich aroma of orange zest with the depth of Archie Rose Single Malt Whisky.

Flavour profile
Nose
Opens with an engaging and entertaining assortment of seville orange marmalade, candied orange peel, lime zest, banoffee pie and lemon merangue tart. There is layers of fruit here ranging from fresh to preserved to cooked.
Palate
The palate is rich and bold with a malt backbone that is not lost despite the intensity of fruit. The palate gives buttered and toasted pannettone, roasted chestnuts, fresh grapefruit and marshmellow.
Finish
The finish and fade is long with an evolving cascade of fruit peel, shortbread and jams.

This whisky showcases the union of two local artisan producers with a deep respect for Australian grown ingredients. Our Australian pale malt has been finished for an additional three months in French oak barrels originally used by liqueur masters Marionette to create their Orange Curaçao, using Navel, Seville and blood orange peel from Mildura, Victoria.
