For these limited edition whiskies, we’ve created four Archie Rose Single Malt Whiskies matured in casks gently smoked with some of nature’s most iconic botanicals. The second in the series, Juniper Smoked Cask Single Malt Whisky, reveals notes of sweet, subtle smoke, resinous florals and tropical fruit.
Master Distiller Dave Withers describes the juniper notes in this whisky as magical and unexpected, coming through on both the nose and the finish with a light, sweet smoke reminiscent of the best lightly-peated Scotch whiskies, but in a fundamentally Australian way, with the floral notes offering a whole new dimension to Archie Rose’s signature pale malt whisky.

Flavour profile
Nose
Sweet, subtle smoke meets resinous florals, unfolding into pineapple, beeswax, and honeysuckle. Hints of shortbread, toasted cedar, baked pear, and pimento berry add intrigue.
Palate
Sweet, spiced shortbread leads to juicy papaya and pear, with subtle floral smoke and juniper joining on the back palate.
Finish
Nuanced, ethereal smoke, roasted baking spices, tsoureki, and tropical fruits linger.
Local & Ethically Sourced Ingredients
Collaborating with one of Australia’s most respected coopers, we gently smoked Archie Rose Single Malt casks with iconic natural ingredients to create a truly distinctive series that continues our exploration of uniquely Australian smoked whisky.
We collaborated with a multi-generational Australian family cooperage to carefully smoke the inside of our empty whisky casks with a range of botanicals. This patient process allows the flavour of each botanical to infuse into the timber itself, and in turn, to the whisky during maturation.
Our pale malt speaks to the Australian land where it was grown, delivering tropical fruit flavours with floral overtones.
The casks used to mature this single malt were smoked with juniper berries, delivering a surprisingly floral whisky with notes of pine resin, violets and discreet smoke.
