Introducing Cinnamon Smoked Cask Single Malt Whisky, the third in a new four-part Archie Rose Smoked Cask Series. Each of the four whiskies in this series showcases a different natural ingredient, each offering its own unique character to the whisky.

Cinnamon Smoked Cask Single Malt Whisky, delivers layered notes of robust baking spices over a backdrop of tropical fruit. The result is an expression with notes of cinnamon toast and charred pineapple.

“Cinnamon and whisky work so well together,” says Head Distiller Dave Withers, “so the choice to use cinnamon in our Smoked Cask Series felt natural. With this cinnamon-smoked cask single malt, the smoke is discreet, but the lovely, warm, sweet notes of carrot cake and raisin toast really shine through on the back palate,” he says. “This whisky was the genesis of the whole Smoked Cask series, because we asked ourselves, how can we take a flavour we love, like cinnamon, and elevate it in the context of how we make whisky?”

Flavour profile

Nose

A comforting combination of toasted cinnamon quill, jarrah, and vanilla, combined with charred banana, grapefruit, and jasmine blossoms. More time in the glass allows for sun-dried mango, chevril and roasted pistachios to come to the fore.

Palate

Subtle cinnamon smoke, roasted marshmallow and charred pineapple provide a mouth-coating, oily mouthfeel that opens into candied citrus, scotch finger biscuits and a pleasant warming sensation from the cinnamon.

Finish

The cinnamon heat provides great length and combines beautifully with tropical fruits, sweet spice and subtle smoke.

Redefining The Art Of Smoking Whisky

We collaborated with a multi-generational Australian family cooperage to carefully smoke the inside of our empty whisky casks with a range of botanicals. This patient process allows the flavour of each botanical to infuse into the timber itself, and in turn, to the whisky during maturation.

Cinnamon Smoked Oak Cask

The casks used to mature this single malt were smoked with cinnamon, delivering a comforting combination of toasted cinnamon quill, jarrah and vanilla combines with charred banana, grapefruitand jasmine blossoms.
