Big Drinks, Little Drinks
Entertaining a crowd in summer is all about show-stopping moments.
Maybe you’re going to have a champagne tower, a bespoke Martini bar or you’ve ordered a personalised ice luge from our friends at Mr Iceman? Whatever it is you’re planning, think of the reveal. I’m a firm believer in either serving big drinks or little drinks. A big drink might be a jug or a punch bowl, or a thermos of Martini taken to the beach. And I love a little drink at the start of a dinner party? Greeting your pals with an Amuse Booze is sure to get everyone off on the right foot.
Snackquiris (serves 4)
In Australia, in summer, you want something with a little pzazz, you want something tart and refreshing - a Daiquiri for example, but perhaps a little one - maybe a Snackquiri? You can tart up this cocktail of the gods - add any liqueur for colour and fun, but essentially some White Rum and some lime and sugar and the good times are going to roll.
Cosmopolitan Party Serve
The ubiquitous SATC drink. It’s stood the test of time, just like the show, and it’s never been better than with our Native Botanical Vodka. This is so easy to make, start with chilled ingredients, and pour all into a punch bowl, add large chunky ice (if you want to be really show-stopping you can try freezing a 500ml Tupperware container the night before the event, and putting the whole iceberg into the bowl - mixology!). Also a few orange wheels or lime wheels will add a lovely touch at the point of serving. If you want to add some summer berries, go ahead, we’re looking for wow and we’re looking at you.
French 75 Jug
This cocktail is chic, how could anything with both gin and champagne be anything but. Again this is a delightful option for entertaining groups - however, the thing about this cocktail is it takes mere seconds to refill. Perfect for lazy days in the garden with friends.
