A three-day Society pop up bar at Archie Rose Distillery from 3rd – 5th May, 2018

Archie Rose Distilling Co. is partnering with the exclusive Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) for ARDC x SMWS – a three-day Society pop up bar at Archie Rose Distillery from 3rd – 5th May, allowing consumers to access a wide selection of new releases and rare archives in a space reminiscent of the SMWS Vaults in Leith, Edinburgh, UK. The society is planning to open select bottlings ranging from 9 year olds to 39 year olds from their 35 year history as well as never-before tasted upcoming gems.

Each day will consist of a special archive cask opening in addition to the launch of a single cask cocktail created by Archie Rose showcasing one of the SMWS twelve flavour profiles. Each cocktail will be announced daily on via both brands’ social platforms and limited to ten serves per day.

In a further daring act of blasphemy, the three-day activation will close on Saturday 5th May with a one-off whisky blending class hosted by Archie Rose Master Distiller, Dave Withers and SMWS National Ambassador, Matt Bailey. Guests will be invited to create their own signature blended whisky from a carefully curated selection of society bottlings.

The SMWS was established in Edinburgh in1983 by Phillip ‘Pip’ Hills who after walking into Glenfarclas distillery a few years earlier discovered his love of single cask, single malt whisky and wanted to share his passion with the world. The SMWS was founded as a whisky club for those fanatical about full flavour. Fast-forward 35 years, and the SMWS is at the forefront of flavour bottling over 500+ single cask, cask strength, non-chill-filtered spirits exclusively for its 26,000 members around the world.
