This class aims to turn stuffy masterclasses on their heads. Production Manager Dave Withers and Venue Manager Harriet Leigh have combined their powers to match 5 Whiskies to 5 Beers, to 5 bar snacks. This informal yet intimate evening celebrates the ultimate in public house fine dining – the boilermaker and nibble.

The boilermaker is often mistakenly thought of as an unsophisticated choice at the bar. However the marriage of beer and whisky not only stems from it’s very genetics – the products of fermented grain - but also from flavour. The two make perfect companions at the bar. Archie Rose Master Distiller Dave Withers and Head of Hospitality Harriet Leigh started this project as a boilermaker list, from there it grew into a masterclass pairing whisky and beer. The addition of bar snacks was inevitable.
The process of deciding on what works well is one both Dave and Harriet take seriously. It is far more difficult than it looks. They can often be spotted at the Archie Rose bar working well after office hours tweaking the pairings.
This evening promises to be fun, interactive, engaging and rowdy. Not your ordinary masterclass.
